Qatar Classic Cars, A Classic Love

Classic car lovers in Doha the capital of Qatar are willing to face the bumps to go after their passion. Classic, Antique or some may call vintage cars until very recently appeared to be a territory only the rich royalties and the VIPs are allowed to enter. However, this perception has gradually changed, and now the market holds possibilities for even the enthusiasts that are willing to spare a bit over a hundred-thousand Qatari Riyals the equivalent to twenty-thousands US Dollars. This became possible due to the economic boom the area is witnessing, efficient communications with classic car dealers in Houston, along with the superior supply chain management allowed cars in Houston to be transported at low costs.

It now became possible for a knowledgeable enthusiast, with patience, and time at their disposal to buy classic car in Qatar, or an antique car in Dubai, or even a classic car to be shipped from Houston. It became possible to start the process with the equivalent of three thousand US dollars, or in other words for less than the ca was worth in the seventies or eighties.

This however sometimes holds true, and sometimes does not. For instance, Morris Minors was valued in Dubai and Qatar at about QR 15,000 in the eighties. It is very difficult to sell such a car for QR 10,000 in 2007 according to a car dealer. Cars that were easy on the pocket back in their peaking days are unlikely to hold value over the years. Hence, exceptions always pop up, for instance this fact doesnt hold true with the iconic mini.

I respect, and always reflect my articles with both mine and the apposing; however I do not see a Qatar classic car dealers opinion holding true. He said "The classic car market, if it can be called that, will flourish because people have bought [these cars] for nostalgia and recreation not for financial gain," says a dealer in classic cars. "Most people, who have bought a classic car in the last ten years, knew their cars would have seen a rise on the value." To contradict, According to Classic Car magazine, the US has seen a growth in the market for classic cars, particularly American sports cars of the 1960s and 1970s. Cars, such as Chevrolet Corvettes and Camaros, Ford Thunderbirds and Pontiacs, are said to have doubled in value over the past three years.

As I have been promising throughout the article series dedicated to Qatar classic car, the research journey has not stopped, rather the more research I make, the more I am interested to learn about the differences in tastes and markets. To get up-to-date research results, visit the section I dedicated to Qatar classic cars

Which Debt Can Be Settled?

This is an important issue as not all debts can be settled with regular debt settlement agencies. And thus, prior to hiring the services of such agencies you need to make sure that your particular debts are suitable for settlement or else you would be just wasting money.

Under the right circumstances all debt can be settled, but debt settlement agencies deal only with certain types of debt. Following is a short description of the different types of debt that qualify for a debt settlement process through an agency and those debt types that do not qualify for regular debt settlement processes and need different solutions in order to be cancelled or eliminated.

Debt Types That Qualify For Debt Settlement

The first type of debt that we will briefly explain is credit card debt. Credit card debt is in most cases unsecured debt that features high interest rates compared to other form of debts. Thus, it is extremely important to include this kind of debt in any debt settlement program. Credit card debt certainly qualifies for debt settlement due to its unsecured nature and the repayment flexibility it presents.

The same goes to store card debt. Just like credit card debt, store card debt is unsecured debt and usually charges higher interest rates than credit card debt and personal loans. Thus, it should also be included into a debt settlement program.

Personal loans, if unsecured can also qualify for debt settlement. This is due to the fact that if the lender refuses to negotiate, he would have to undertake long legal processes to recover the money and he would also be forced to negotiate prior and during the process with costly legal fees. Of course, this applies to unsecured personal loans only and not secured loans.

Different bills, like hospital bills and other services bills can also be included in a debt settlement program. They are usually included because the debt is unsecured and because the creditor has less negotiating power than banks and other big companies. Thus, it is easier for a negotiator to convince the creditor that he should accept the deal or he might lose the chances of getting any money back at all.

Debt Types That Do Not Qualify For Debt Settlement

There are other debt types that cannot be settled. These debts include: student loans which can be consolidated, waived or forgiven but never settled. The only exceptions are certain private student loans which are not subsidized by the government or a private non-profit institution and thus are subject to the rules of any personal unsecured loan.

Mortgage loans and home equity loans are guaranteed by a property or the equity on that property and thus are not subject to negotiation because the lender can always resort to request the repossession of the property and claim all the money owed. The solution for these debts is refinancing which can modify the terms of the secured debt while keeping the security in place.

Car loans which are secured on the car are just like mortgage loans, and with only a few differences, are tied to the same rules. Just like mortgage loans, car loans can be refinanced or fully paid off with the aid of a mortgage or home equity loan. Thus, to solve a debt problem derived from a car loan your main options are debt consolidation and refinancing.

Finally, tax debts cant be settled either. There are some circumstances in which under special hardship, a debt can be forgiven by the government agency. However, these are very special situations with complex requirements. And often, they imply that the debtor has to resort to extreme measures like filing for bankruptcy.

Pet Friendly Design - Solving Interior Design Problems for Dog Owners

Being a pet owner can be put a damper on design plans. There are three basic principals dog owners have come to accept: white furniture is out of the question, hardwood is too easy to scratch, and the most expensive piece of plush furniture will ultimately be the favored resting place of your canine companion. Theres a wealth of design issues to wrap a tail around that could leave any dog and his masters mind spinning. Whether youre a new dog owner or experienced with the frustrations of doggie design, Darlene White, of Simplicity Home Staging & Design, offers design ideas that will keep owners stylish and their dogs still presuming they are master of their domain.

Stylish Sofas:
While its easy to say a dogs place is not on the furniture, trying to teach him to stay off of something that is absolute heaven to the fur is another story. Gone are the days of worn sofas embedded with the frayed image of Fidos body in the cushion. New advances in sofa design allow pet owners comfort and style. Crypton is a nearly indestructible synthetic fabric that's resistant to stains. Its perfect for muddy paws and the dirt and grime doggie fur can leave behind. For a less expensive alternative, try an ultra suede microfiber, which is smooth to the touch and often sheds stains with the brush of a hand. If purchasing a new sofa is not in the design plans, try a sofa cover with ScotchGuard. These covers are stylish and come in an array of colors and designs. Sofa covers now come in stretch fabrics that make it difficult to tell the sofa has been covered. To keep the sofa fabric underneath from discoloring or fraying, place an old sheet under the cover. It will act as a barrier to protect the sofa underneath. Two fabrics to avoid: velvet and leather. A dogs fur will cling to velvet and make it extremely difficult to remove the hair. While some owners presume leather is a good choice for dogs, its actually quite delicate to the nails and tasty to the tummy. Theres a reason Fido finds those expensive leather shoes delectable the smell. The same is true for a leather sofa. A general rule of thumb for pet owners be weary of furniture that produces a scent.

Stylish Floors:
Carpeting gets dirty, hardwood gets scratched, and for pet owners flooring options gets limited. Unfortunately, flooring choices seem to depend on the pup. If the warm comfort of carpeting is a necessity, try FLOR carpet tiles. These 19.7 x 19.7 tiles join together to make a full carpet or area rugs. With a multitude of styles, an owner can mix and match designs to create a custom look or select a simple traditional design. FLOR has even teemed with Martha Stewart to offer a larger variety of stylish selections. Easy to clean, if a dog soils an area, just pull it up, follow the simple cleaning instructions, allow it to dry, and return it to the floor. If hardwood is an absolute must have, stick to the harder woods which are more durable and scratch resistant: oak, cherry, maple, hickory, elm, balsa, mahogany, and sycamore. Softer woods such as birch, cedar, pine, redwood, fir, and larch will dent and scratch more easily. According to Bella Wood, small scratches can be repaired by purchasing a kit but larger scratches will require light sanding and a new coat of varnish. While some owners have had success with laminate surfaces, which comes in a variety of hardwood, tile, and slate, laminate can also scratch. Some dogs also have a difficult time walking on laminate floors. The best solution for stylish floors: stained concrete, tile, or slate. Mix and match these surfaces with carpet tiles and never worry about soiled and scratched surfaces again.

Stylish Furnishings:
Compromising furniture is a thing of the past. While metal and glass will withstand the jowls of any pup, wood is not out of the question. When selecting furniture and accessories, consider the age of a dog. Puppies will be more prone to gnaw on woods and its probably best to avoid wood furniture until a pup is through his terrible twos. If eliminating wood furnishings is not an option, consider crating Fido while no one is around to supervise. Chew toys and regular exercise also keeps a dog at peace and less likely to destroy his owners home. Installing an invisible fence inside the home allows owners to keep dogs out of a room without doors or baby gates.

Stylish Accessories:
Because dogs are like children, its important to be sure theres nothing within Fidos reach that can be hazardous to his health. Place accessories high enough that a dog cannot reach them. Pieces that are lower to the floor should be larger in scale. As a general rule of thumb an accessory should be two to three times the size of what a dog can swallow. Antiques, precious family heirlooms, and expensive pieces should be kept out of a dogs reach. Consider getting on all fours and crawling around the room. Look at the room from the perspective of your pet to see what they see and what may be of potential interest. Large breed dog owners should come up to a kneeling position and determine what a dog can get into at this height. Then plan your accessory placement accordingly.

Stylish Walls:
Teach Fido not to jump early. Scratches and dents in walls can be difficult to repair. Flat paint will be nearly impossible to clean. Consider painting in a satin, eggshell, or semi-gloss which is the easiest to wipe up.

Doggie Design is within an owners reach. Practicality and function can blend seamlessly with personal taste the owners and the dogs. With so many choices available, theres no reason for owners to feel they are living in a dog house. Stylish sofas, fabulous floors, and fine furnishings will make Fido and family the envy of the neighborhood.

Mesothelioma: Symptoms of Mesothelioma Cancer

The most common Mesothelioma symptoms are shortness of breath and pain in the chest. These symptoms occur due to a buildup of fluid in the pleura, what is known as Pleural Mesothelioma. However the symptoms of Peritoneal Mesothelioma include weight loss, abdominal pain and swelling due to an accumulation of fluid in the abdominal cavity.

Peritoneal mesothelioma may include other uncomfortable symptoms too, such as bowel obstruction, blood clotting abnormalities, anemia and fever.

However these symptoms can appear before if malignant cancerous cells have spread beyond the mesothelium to other parts of the body, and other symptoms such as trouble swallowing, pain, and swelling of the neck or face may appear.

Mesothelioma or other less serious conditions may caused these symptoms, therefore the importance of going to a doctor if you feel any of these symptoms, because only an expert like him can make a correct diagnosis.

Mesothelioma cancer rate has increased over the past 20 years and although this disease is not as common as other cancer pathologies, the number of new diagnosed cases in the United States has risen up to 2,000 per year.

According to experts the major risk factor for developing Mesothelioma lies in working with asbestos, so if you are a asbestos worker remember following the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommendations in order to reduce your risk.

Independent Insurance Agents

Insurance companies employ thousands of agents who operate across the country to reach as many clients as possible. Agents also allow insurance companies to cater to the specific needs of the clients on a more personal level.

These insurance agents are called "producers?" They are the ones who interview you. From the details they get about your lifestyle and preferences, they prepare an insurance plan and policy for you. Like personal shoppers, they help you choose the best deals in insurance coverage and help customize the product to better suit your needs and budget.

As you may know, there are different kinds of insurance. There is insurance for real property, health, death, automobiles, assets, retirement planning, estate planning, or assistance in setting up pension plans for businesses, to name a few. Insurance agents also specialize in each area and aspect of the insurance products they offer. To get the best products in the market, you must employ the services of the most efficient and well-versed insurance agents.

There are two kinds of insurance agents. One is the captive agent who works for only one insurance company and cannot give you information on the other alternatives. And the other is the independent agent who offers and sells policies for more than one insurance agency.

If you are an individual or business with multiple insurance needs, you may find the services of an independent insurance agent helpful. He or she can offer you a list of insurance providers and their products, prepare comprehensive comparative analyses, and help you decide on the best deals. This can be advantageous for you since you will get balanced information on all insurance companies and will be able to choose from among the vast policy programs available out there. There is also a greater chance that the independent insurance agent can zero in on the policy best suited for you or business.

Insurance Agent provides detailed information on Insurance Agent, Insurance Carrier Broker Agents, Life Insurance Agents, Independent Insurance Agents and more. Insurance Agent is affiliated with Car Insurance Brokers.

Recorded Statement - Do I Have to Give One After a Car Accident?

The recorded statement is a guarantee step in the claim investigation process.

Insurance adjusters will be calling you to ask if they can take your statement about the accident. Many people believe that they have to give these statements so the insurance company provides coverage for the loss. Most insurance companies have Cooperation Clauses in them, but none of them can require you to give a recorded statement in the event of a car accident.

You have the constitutional right to remain silent and to not testify against your own person. Even in murder trials, the right to no self incrimination is respected. The concept carries over to car accidents. No one can bound coverage and require you to be in a recording giving testimony of facts.

Taking a recorded statement is entirely voluntary. Do not let the insurance company tell you otherwise. If they tell you that the cooperation clause in your policy says that you must cooperate, then you can tell them that you will cooperate by giving a verbal statement (same statement just not recorded).

The cooperation clause is just that, a clause that requires you to help the insurance companys investigation. It does not say that you have to do it under a recorded statement. If they are too pushy, then ask them to put their requirements on writing and verify what they are telling you against your actual policy.

Benefits v. Harms of a Recorded Statement
The benefit is that your insurance company will be able to better document your file. If there is a dispute about fault, and your case goes to arbitration, the arbitrator will probably look at a file with a recorded statement as having better evidence than a file without one. I have seen arbitrators decide that one persons version of events was more convincing because she/he was willing to put their words in a recording.

The harms of giving a bad recorded statement could be many, delay in the investigation for something that you said that could bar coverage, complete denial of coverage, fault being construed against you, interpretation of your words against you, etc.

If you think that giving a recorded statement is the right thing to do, then consider only giving it to your own insurance company. If the other partys insurance carrier asks for a recorded statement, have them contact your insurance company and share a copy of the tape. This way you only give one statement, and the people questioning you is your own insurance company (the one protecting your interests).

Here are the best 10 tips of what you should do before you give a recorded statement:
1. Make sure you have time to talk. Secure at least one hour of your time.
2. Make sure is time that work s for you and the adjusters. Do not do it before the adjusters lunch time. They will rush you to get out of the tape without giving you a chance to fully explain your point of view.
3. Have all the information available in front of you. For example, Names, streets, insurance polices, and the police report if possible.
4. Read your police before hand. This way you will know why the adjuster is asking what they are asking, and see if they are trying to find information to deny your claim.
5. Tell the adjuster that you are willing to give the statement only if they give you a transcription of what you said. Make sure you say this on the tape.
6. Remember that you can decline to answer any question for any reason at anytime. Just say it. I decline to answer for personal reasons.
7. Tell the adjuster that you will also record the conversation. This usually puts them in their best behavior.
8. Answer only what they asked you. If the question is what color is the light? then answer should be a color and nothing more.
9. If the question is subjective, decline to answer, tell them that you do not know, or simply just ask the adjuster what they are looking for specifically.
10. Be polite and respectful. If they are rude or anxious, the adjusters supervisor will probably side you. But if you are rude, your complaint will be dismissed.

Drive safe and hope that others will!

All the best,

The Year of the Hybrid

Every once in a while a life-changing product is introduced yet it's potential is lost on the public and it's viewed as a novelty or fad. It took 10 years for anyone to become interested in the invention of the photocopier. Perhaps the only people that can see the full potential of an invention are the people who designed it. When the telephone was introduced a mayor of one American City stated, "I can see the time when every city will have one." Looking back it's easy to see how some people aren't forward thinkers.

Just a few years ago many industry pundits viewed hybrids as an over-priced fad. At the time America's appetite for large SUV's was only getting stronger leaving no love hybrids. Though no one could argue that hybrids were better for the environment and far more fuel efficient, consumers were interested in fully loaded Ford Explorers. With oil at $40 a barrel, nobody was interested in paying thousands more for a vehicle that got better fuel mileage. It's taken some time (the Prius is almost 10 years old) but the hybrid movement has finally caught on with mainstream consumers. How times have changed over the last 5 years. Sales of the Ford Explorer were down 42% in April while sales of the Ford Escape Hybrid were up 68%. With gas flirting at $3.00 a gallon consumers are more interested in hybrids then ever before. So interested that automakers are having a difficult time keep up with demand.

As gas prices continue to move upward and onward, hybrids save their owners more money. According to the EPA, a V6 Ford Escape driven 15,000 miles a year will use $2085 worth of unleaded regular (at $2.91 a gallon). The Escape Hybrid will use $1415 worth of fuel, an annual saving of $670. Assuming gas prices stay the same, it'll only take about 3 years to recoup the cost. And if gas prices go up (which is very likely), you'll save even more money. But the deal is even sweeter with a variety of tax incentives for those who purchase a hybrid vehicle. And many cities allow hybrids to use the carpool lanes. This can be priceless (the good kind) if you live in a busy urban area, or priceless (the bad kind) if you don't.

Not everyone is sold on hybrids. Some people think of hybrids as being slow and underpowered. That couldn't be further from the truth. The Honda Accord goes 0-60mph in less than 7 seconds. In fact, the Accord Hybrid is the most powerful Accord ever built. The Toyota Highlander produces 268hp and can achieve 60 mph in 7.3 seconds, not bad for a 7 seat SUV. And let's not forget the upcoming Lexus GS450h. It makes more than 330hp and goes 0-60mph in 5.2 seconds, making it one of the fastest luxury sedans on the planet. Hybrids actually have an advantage when it comes to acceleration. The electric motors produce their maximum output from a very low speed, unlike a typical gasoline internal combustion engine that produces power at higher rpm's.

Other than a few laggards, most people can see the virtues of owning a hybrid. Great fuel economy, fewer emissions, and the warm fuzzy feeling that goes with doing something good for Mother Nature. The acceptance of hybrids is long overdue but like many great inventions, we're only now seeing the potential. I wonder what those industry pundits have to say?

Pepper Spray: What is it and How Does It Work

Pepper spray (also known as OC spray-Oleoresin Capsicum), or capsicum spray is an inflammatory agent. (A chemical that irritates the eyes to cause tears, pain, and temporary blindness) The spray is an organically based inflammatory agent derived from the active ingredient of cayenne peppers. Pepper spray typically comes in canisters, which are often small enough to be carried concealed in a pocket or purse.

Pepper spray causes immediate dilating of the eye capillaries resulting in temporary blindness, temporary paralysis of the larynx (which causes subjects to lose their breath), choking and coughing. The defensive spray also will create an intense burning sensation on the surface of the skin and nausea. The mucous membranes will swell to prevent all but life support breathing. After being sprayed subjects immediately cover their eyes and bend over into a defensive posture to avoid further contact. It is very uncomfortable and there is some pain associated with it. The result is temporary incapacitation, mostly due to not being able to see or breathe properly.

OC Spray may not be quite as effective on addicts, intoxicated or hysterical persons. You may have to spray them twice with a good burst of pepper spray to have the desired effect. The length of the effects depend on the strength of the spray but the average full effect lasts around thirty to forty-five minutes, with after effects lasting for hours. The strongest concentrations are 15% active ingredients and rated at 2 million scoville heat units. The high scoville heat rating is more important than the actual percentage of pepper spray ingredients.

Pepper spray is often used to control riots or other violent situations as well as in self defense. A violent assault occurs every 15 seconds in the US and carrying defensive sprays are potent self defense products and safer than guns. Pepper spray is non lethal except under a few rare circumstances, depending on pre-existing medical conditions. There is rarely long term vision damage.

If one is infected with pepper spray, the best thing to do is to blink constantly. This will induce tears that can wash the pepper spray out of ones eyes. Washing ones eyes with soap such as mild non-oily degreasing dishwasher detergent can help you relive some of the peppers irritation. The pepper spray has an effect of about half an hour until the effects ware off. Pepper spray is illegal in certain countries such as UK, and requires a license in most other countries including the United States, Canada, and Sweden.
